Nihal Yağmur Aydın is a scientist, researcher and computer engineer. She was born in Istanbul, Turkey. Starting from an early age (14), she studied in English language ( where her high school, bachelor's and master's studies were all instruced in English, except for lessons of Turkish history and Turkish literature). Therefore, she has good knowledge of English, specifically the terminology for computer engineering discipline, math and science branches in general. In addition to that, she studied psychology & counselling from an institute in UK due to her own interest and got another diploma after her engineering studies (which is equivalent to 2 year degree in UK, US and Australia); whereas her other diplomas are valid worldwide internationally. Throughout her life, she had chance to study at the best schools of Turkey; due to perfect exam results she had for the entry to the schools; therefore her education is "unquestionable" given that she not only entered at the best schools in Turkey but also succeeded in "very hard and challenging" exams with the outstanding results. During her master's studies in Turkey, she worked as a research assistant at a project funded by Tübitak at Boğaziçi University and became a co-author of a publication published at Cambridge University Press, Natural Language  Engineering section, where she developed a multi-document summarization algorithm for answering questions written in Turkish language. She both designed and implemented the algorithm and wrote 8 pages of the publication and contributed to other parts of the software system, as well. Her thesis, which is titled as "A rule-based Approach for Converting Wikipedia Content into Semantic Relations" was also published as a result of international conference in Artificial Intellience domain in Ireland. She worked as a research intern at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Italy in the summer of 2015 (after her first year at master's) and participated in the EU project called "Erasmus+ Colibri" at Technical University of Riga, Latvia in that same summer. She worked as a teaching assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University while writing her master's thesis at Boğaziçi University(2016) and graded student's homeworks and projects for Java programming and algorithms classes at Istanbul Bilgi University.

​        After her formal education in Turkey, she worked as a researcher/research engineer at several institutions in Europe, such as University of Padova (Italy), University of Bremen (Germany), University of Caen Normandie - CNRS- GREYC lab (France), University of Vienna (Austria).   She mainly worked in the field of "natural language processing" during her employments abroad and she worked as a "public employee" based on the contracts with public universities. Therefore, those employments were not related to Turkish system and completely under European system and law. She was "physically present" for all those researcher positions abroad and did not do any work from distance- except for the duration of pandemic breakout in France - 2020 - where employees were "obliged to work from distance". :) Also, she was present in Caen, France during the "yellow vests protests" in France, whereas she did not join the protests... ;) She enjoyed working in France the most, taking into account her experiences abroad.

       Starting from 2021, she worked at some Turkish companies, continuing in industry. Most recently, she has registered at "data visualization and information design" course at the statistics department of Anadolu University, Turkey - a 2 year diploma degree programme with a distance learning/open science scheme. She enjoys doing research; therefore she finds it as a valuable opportunity to study this new field; whereas her main intention is to pursue PhD if possible.
